RCMP investigating hit and run

rcmplogoCranbrook RCMP are investigating a hit and run collision that occurred Thursday, October 17, at a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and 2nd Street North (pictured above).

RCMP attended the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and spoke to a 15-year-old boy who reported that on Thursday October 17, at 7:45 p.m., he was walking across Victoria Avenue at 2nd Street North after activating the walk lights at the marked crossing. The boy was struck by a blue Chevrolet Cruze vehicle and knocked onto the hood, after which the driver stopped. The boy rolled off the side of the vehicle, and the driver then immediately fled the scene.
