Six-hour power outage expected

BC Hydro will be making electrical system improvements, affecting various East Kootenay municipalities, throughout the month of June.

On Sunday, June 28, from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. residents in the Skookumchuk, Wasa Lake, Sheep Creek, Wolf Creek, Lazy Lake, Premier Lake, Island Pond, Tembec Pulp Mill and Torrent Road area west of the mill, as well as Woods Corner and LD Ranch Road, can expect a power outage.

To prepare for this interruption and to protect your equipment from damage, BC Hydro urges that residents turn off all lights, electrical heaters and major appliances and unplug all electronics.

We are sorry for the inconvenience. We will restore power as soon as we can.
