Sparwood emerg hours change Thursday
District of Sparwood and area residents are advised of the following change to emergency department hours tomorrow at the health centre in Sparwood tomorrow due to limited physician availability.
Hours of operation are normally seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please note the adjusted ED hours for the following days: Thursday, August 29 – open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All other hours of operation remain the same.
Residents should take note of the following if they require care when the emergency department is closed:
In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
Residents should proceed to the emergency department in Fernie.
If individuals are unsure about what services they require, call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1. The toll-free line provides 24-hour, confidential health information and advice from a registered nurse.
The emergency department’s hours were also impacted this past Monday, August 26.
Interior Health (IH) regrets these temporary changes to usual service and will provide the community with regular updates when there are changes to normal operating hours.
