Traffic volumes will subside this Family Day Weekend along Highway 93 in Kootenay National Park and Highway 95 between Radium Hot Springs and Golden as the Trans-Canada Highway is opened due to a break in Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4 work.

The Trans-Canada Highway will be fully open east of Golden starting Friday, February 18 at noon until Tuesday, Feb. 22 at noon.

It’s back to detour traffic again after that.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure reports the rest of February and March, it’s:

• 30-minute stoppages during non-peak times.

• Overnight closures Sundays – Fridays starting at 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. the next day.

NOTE: There will be an extended closure from noon on Tuesday, April 19 until Friday, May 20 at noon.
