Ute Juras has served on the Village of Canal Flats’ council since its inception.

However, she’s now going to be seeing things differently from her new chair, now that she has been acclaimed as mayor, being the lone candidate to come forward for the Nov. 19 election.

There also won’t be an election for council in Canal Flats, as only four people filed papers and by virtue of only four seats being available at the council table, they are also all acclaimed as of today, Friday, Oct. 14, the final date for the filing of nomination papers.

Forming Canal Flats’ new council will be incumbent Coun. Delorme Gilbert and new councilors Evence Blanchard, Marie Delorme and Paul Marcil.
