Columbia Valley RCMP Report

This past week, January 24 through January 30, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 44 calls for service. The following is a summary of some of the files our officers responded to.

Bicycles stoles in Invermere incidents

Early last week two bicycles were reported stolen from Invermere. On Monday, January 24, a resident on 13th Avenue in Invermere reported the theft of a bicycle from her property sometime overnight. The bike was described as a bright orange Giant.

On Wednesday, January 26, a resident of Invermere reported the theft of a bicycle from her backyard on 10th Street. The bike was described as a blue and purple Giant Lust. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Columbia Valley RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Minor injuries in crash near McKay Creek

On Friday, January 28, at about 2:20 p.m., emergency crews responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 93 near McKay Creek in Kootenay National Park. The driver of a Toyota Tacoma had reportedly passed a vehicle before losing control of the truck and rolling down an embankment. The driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

No injuries in crash near Numa Falls

On Sunday, January 30 at 5 p.m., Columbia Valley RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision on Highway 93 near Numa Falls in Kootenay National Park. The officer spoke to the driver of a Honda Pilot who confirmed he lost control of his vehicle and slid into a snowbank. The driver was uninjured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
