Columbia Valley RCMP Report

This past week, May 11 through May 18, Columbia Valley RCMP responded to 65 calls for service.

The following are some notable occurrences:

Police Restorative Justice initiated after shoplifting complaint

On May 11, police were called for a shoplifting complaint within the District of Invermere. A pair of shoes valued at $25 were taken by a person known to police. Police Restorative Justice efforts were initiated. This resulted in full payment and a one-year store ban.

Wallet found on Toby Benches turned into detachment

On May 12, a woman’s purse was dropped off at the detachment as found property. The purse was located up on the Toby Benches. A small amount of US cash was within, however, no identification to help locate the owner. This is currently at the detachment awaiting the owner to claim. If this is yours, please either attend or call. A brief description will help reunite.

Boat stolen from Invermere area

On May 15, a high value boat was reported as being stolen from the Invermere area, sometime between October 5, 2025, and the report. The boat is a 2022 Nautique Super Air G23. Please reach out to the local RCMP Detachment or Crime Stoppers if you happen to have information regarding this theft. The boat is pictured above and right.

Early morning assault in Invermere May 17

On May 17, in the early morning hours, Police were called for an assault that had occurred in the business district of 13th Street, Invermere. The victim was punched and kicked while on the ground, sustaining injuries that required a hospital visit. Police are currently evidence gathering and are asking that anyone with information to reach out to the local detachment or Crime Stoppers.
