Fire at Invermere Best Western

Firefighters are monitoring and mopping up after a fire last night at the Invermere Best Western.

Members of three Columbia Valley fire departments responded to the fire.

Columbia Valley Rural Fire & Rescue Services stated on social media last night: “A big shout out to the members of our Windermere and Panorama Fire Departments who assisted the Invermere Fire Department on the scene of a fire at the Best Western in Invermere this evening.

“In addition to Columbia Valley Rural Fire & Rescue Chief Jim Miller, six members of the Panorama Department responded with the ladder truck, while five (members) and a truck responded from Windermere.

“Crews are currently working on hot spots in the roof of the structure. The guests of the hotel have been relocated to another local hotel for the night. Great work by all involved!” Columbia Valley Rural Fire & Rescue said.
