Invermere rated 33rd coziest ‘city’ in Canada

Expedia.ca has released a list of the 55 coziest cities in Canada and an East Kootenay district has made the mark.

Invermere is rated the 33rd coziest ‘city’ in Canada.

ā€œWhat exactly is a cozy city? Itā€™s a place with attractions that provide warmth, relaxation, and community. Itā€™s a city with a welcoming hotel at the end of the night. Itā€™s a town that says, ā€œYouā€™re family here.ā€ To help create our annual coziest cities report, we looked at Expedia.ca hotel data. Each location chosen has at least 100 reviews, with a comfort score of 3.5 stars and higher. In no particular order, these are the coziest places in the country,ā€ Expedia explains.

While ā€˜in no particular order,ā€™ the top 55 list features Canmore, Alberta (pictured above) as the coziest place in Canada.

British Columbia communities fared well in this list, accounting for 38% of the 55 locations named.

Langley (third) is the coziest city in B.C., according to Expedia, followed by West Kelowna (sixth), Sidney (12th), Campbell River (14th), North Vancouver (15th), Burnaby (17th), Whistler (18th), Osoyoos (20th), Chilliwack (21st), Parksville (23rd), Prince George (25th), Courtney (26th), Richmond (27th), Kamloops (30th), Tofino (32nd) and Invermere (33rd).

Five more B.C. communities follow Invermere, including: Ucluelet (39th), Nelson (42nd), Vernon (46th) and Squamish (55th).
