Lindi Ortega to headline Saturday at MusicFest

The Invermere MusicFest is thrilled to announce that critically acclaimed songstress, Lindi Ortega, has been added to the Saturday (August 18) evening lineup.

Lindi Ortega is a Canadian country singer-songwriter who has been described as a blend of Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and Emmylou Harris.

For almost a decade, she was an independent artist in the Toronto music scene and released two albums and an extended play (EP) record during that time.

At the beginning of 2011, Ortega toured with the lead singer of The Killers, Brandon Flowers. The tour included several places in the U.S, United Kingdom, and Germany as well as televised live performances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and at Abbey Road Studios in London.

In 2012, Ortega was nominated for two Juno Awards—New Artist of the Year and Roots & Traditional Album. In 2014 and 2015, Ortega won Roots Artist of the Year from the Canadian Country Music Association and over the years has received critical praise from the National Public Radio, Rolling Stone, Billboard and more.

Lindi Ortega is replacing Alex Cuba whom regretfully had to cancel his appearance at the festival due to a scheduling conflict.

“We are thrilled to host Lindi at out Festival this year. She will be taking the stage to wind up the night with a dynamic, mad-skill and authentic performance that will end the evening on a high note,” said Festival Director Jami Scheffer.
