McDonald’s franchise opening in Invermere Nov. 8
UPDATE: Construction delays have forced the opening of the Invermere McDonald’s to Nov. 8.
Columbia Valley diners will have another option for fast-food Nov. 8 when a McDonald’s franchise will open its doors near the Highway 93/95 crossroads.
McDonald’s Canada is coming to Lakeview Drive at the entry to Invermere via owner Sonya Saujani, who also owns the McDonald’s restaurant in Golden.
Saujani was awarded Employer of the Year in Golden for 2020-21. But beyond just offering employment opportunities, she has a history supporting the communities she operates in.
She is now sponsoring a local Invermere hockey team and is looking to support other local community sports and recreation organizations.
In Golden, she supports several community services including the food bank and senior centre and scholarship program at the local high school – something she plans to extend to Invermere.
Saujani is looking to grow her expanding team with crew and manager positions available.
“Being a McDonald’s crew member is more than a first job, offering professional development and growth opportunities,” she said.
The restaurant is expected to bring over 40 jobs to the community.
