Windermere Community Association notes

The Windermere Community Association is holding a general meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Windermere Community Hall.

For March, here are the events at the hall:

– Bingo: March 6 and March 20 with $300 payouts donated by the Windermere Family Pantry.

– Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m. – WCA AGM.

We are looking for residents within Windermere Fire District to be board members. We have several members resigning. We are also looking for volunteers (living anywhere) to help throughout the year for children events, youth, several adult events, fall fair, new years eve, bingo, just to name a few. Please, if you can volunteer for one time event or several, we are in desperate need. If you have any questions, please contact Gracie at 341-1548 or [email protected]

– March 31 at 10 a.m., Sunday – Easter Egg Hunt.

Renos

Renovations are going on at the hall and it is coming along nicely. We are looking forward to everyone coming out and seeing the final product. Hopefully sometime early summer we will have an open house. There will be a youth centre/meeting space downstairs, the kitchen is getting new flooring/paint and the inside is getting paint and couple of upgrades. There is a lot of energy efficiency updates underway.  We were very fortunate to get grants to help us with these upgrades, but are still in desperate need of funds, one to complete the list and secondly, it will largely deplete our current funds. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Giving Back

If I apply for the Giving Back Community Golf Tournament for a fundraiser for the Youth Centre that the Windermere Hall is sponsoring, who would be willing to help volunteer for this event?

I will not be able to apply without help. It will be Sunday, June 23.  I need to know this before March 20. Please email or call Gracie to help.

This is a huge opportunity for the youth centre to get money to get started and able to do events/trips with the youth in Windermere. This is not connected to the Summit Youth Centre in Invermere. You can reach Gracie at 341-1548 or [email protected]
