Wildfire in Kootenay National Park

BC Wildfire Service is reporting a new wildfire in Kootenay National Park, east of the Kootenay River and Highway 93, near Crooks Meadows.

Discovered June 28, it is believed the estimated .2 hectare fire was caused by lightning.

That fire is the only one being reported for the East Kootenay by BC Wildfire Service at this time.
