At the Library

By Mike Selby

Cranbrook Public Library

Three new thrillers this week—all about bookstores for some reason: Patti Callahan Henry’s ‘The Bookshop at Water’s End,’ Mathew Sullivan’s ‘Midnight at the Bright Idea’s Bookstore,’ and John Grisham’s ‘Camino Island.’

This is the final week of the Summer Reading Club! The second candy guess of the summer will end on August 19 and the winner will take the jar of candy home as the prize. The teen candy guess started on Sunday, August 13 and will end on Saturday, August 19.

The winner of the teen candy guess will also take the jar of candy home as the prize. The last family movie night of the summer is scheduled for Thursday, August 17 at 6 p.m. The movie is Smurfs: The Lost Village.

The last day to hand in reading logs is Saturday, August 19 at 5 p.m. Participants who want to receive a medal and a certificate at the closing ceremonies must have at least one completed reading log handed in by this day.
