Boston Pizza supports CFKR as Charity of Choice

ā€œBoston Pizza Cranbrook is pleased to support the Community Foundation of the Kootenay Rockies (CFKR) as its ‘charity of choice’ for 2019,” said Angela Gordon, owner of Boston Pizza Cranbrook.

“The community foundation provides a broad range of support in the communities we love and represent,Ā through our guest traffic and the areas our staff call home. Keeping the support local is important now andĀ going forward.”

Boston Pizza Cranbrook recently donated over $1,200 from its Valentineā€™s Day promotions, to support the community foundationā€™s work to establish and grow permanently invested endowment funds. These endowment funds earn interest, resulting in community grants to local non-profits, every year, forever.

Boston Pizza Cranbrook kicked off their 2019 support with a donation of over $700, aimed at increasing awareness about the community foundationā€™s long-term and sustainable approach to charitable giving.

According to Lynnette Wray, CFKR Executive Director, ā€œBoston Pizza Cranbrook is a huge supporter of so many initiatives in our community. The community foundation is thrilled to be Boston Pizza Cranbrookā€™s ā€˜charity of choiceā€™ for 2019.ā€

ā€œThe community foundation invites community members and other local businesses to join Boston Pizza Cranbrook in helping to build this permanent nest egg for our community. Every dollar counts!ā€ added Wray.

Federally incorporated as a not-for-profit and as a CRA-registered charity since 2003, CFKR is governed by a 13-member volunteer board and employs one staff person. CFKR currently holds a total of approximately $2.5 million in 37 permanently invested endowment funds.
