Bylaw Notice Enforcement Bylaw nears

The City of Cranbrook is close to establishing a Bylaw Notice Enforcement Bylaw after council passed its first three readings May 31.

The proposed Bylaw Notice Enforcement Bylaw No. 4049, 2021, will provide Bylaw Services staff with tools necessary to issue tickets without having to personally serve them and will also allow the disputant a fair and seamless process to dispute a ticket.

City staff are proposing the bylaw does not come into effect until January 1, 2022 to allow for enhanced communication and preparation.

Upon adoption of this bylaw a Screening Officer Policy and Procedures and a Dispute Adjudication Registry Policy and Procedures will be brought forward for council approval.
