The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 36, Fernie, BC is celebrating their 100th year anniversary with a block party on September 5.

The City of Fernie is happy to be providing in-kind support for the event, including painting a Legion-themed crosswalk to commemorate the milestone.

Keep an eye out for the Royal Canadian Legion Flag flying at City Hall until September 13.

Please note the following road closures will be in place for the event, starting at 8 a.m. on September 5:

• 1st Avenue from the Arts Station to 5th Street.
• 6th Street from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue.
