Citizens of the Year dinner Jan. 25

Congratulations to our 2018 Citizens of the Year – Jim and Ann Wavrecan (pictured above).

Ann has been a volunteer with the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop since 2005.  Jim was a member of Cranbrook city council from 1989 to 2011 and chaired the Railroad Centennial Committee, the City Centennial Committee and was involved in the Cranbrook Celebration for Peace Society.

Ann and Jim have been chaperones with the Sweetheart Society for a number of years and are responsible for building, maintaining and travelling with the city float. Their willingness to take on projects in the spirit of making Cranbrook a better place to live is why they are deserving of this honour.

The Citizen of the Year dinner is being held Jan. 25 from 5:30 to 11:55 p.m. at the Heritage Inn and Conference Centre. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 a person.
