Cobham reconstruction highlights 2018 city work
The City of Cranbrook will spend $8.5 million on infrastructure projects this year, including reconstruction of busy industrial and feeder route Cobham Road.
City council Feb. 5 approved the 2018 Capital Works Program for the Infrastructure Planning Department to conduct six major projects, based on the cityβs Asset Management Plan priorities.
Project one β Cobham Avenue reconstruction: High Priority Road Reconstruction and Storm Sewer Project.
Project two β 9th Street road and watermain β (5th Avenue to 9th Avenue): High Priority Water Distribution and Road Reconstruction Project.
Project three β Paving Program – High Priority Local and Arterial Roads throughout the city.
Project four β Kootenay Street Storm Sewer β 4th St North and Kootenay Street – High Priority Storm Sewer Trunk Main.
Project five β Sanitary Sewer Pipe Relining – High Priority Sanitary Sewer Mains throughout the city.
Project six β 12th Avenue road and watermain β (4th Street S to 5th Street S) – High Priority Water Distribution and Road Reconstruction Project.
The city spent $14.8 million on infrastructure improvements in 2017, including borrowing $10 million to finish the 2nd Street South reconstruction.
