Cranbrook GoGo Grannies shutting down

Inspired by Stephen Lewis, who spoke at the College of the Rockies 10 years ago, a group of East Kootenay women formed the Cranbrook GoGo Grannies.

We are one of the many GoGo chapters across Canada. Our mission is to raise funds to assist the grandmothers of Africa who are raising their orphaned grandchildren. In many cases the children’s parents have died of AIDS.

Over the years we have held craft fairs, yard sales, travelogues, and our popular Glitz and Glamour. We have raised, with wonderful community support, over $130,000 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Due to a variety of circumstances our membership numbers have declined and we have made the difficult decision to discontinue our group.

The grandmothers of Africa continue to need support and you are encouraged to make your donations to either the Kimberley GoGo Grannies or to the Stephen Lewis Foundation. We thank you for your amazing support over the years.

If you wish to make an income tax deductible donation, please do so at the following:
