Cranbrook RCMP Report
The following is a synopsis of calls reported to Cranbrook RCMP for the period between 12 a.m. Dec. 17 to Dec. 30, at 12 p.m. (Note two week period.)
Calls for Service: 270
Three impaired driving: Two 90-Day Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (IRP); and one three-day IRP – (Multiple Counter Attack Roadblocks conducted).
Nine collisions in the city: All minor in nature and most related to weather conditions.
Eight collisions outside the city: All minor in nature and mostly due to weather conditions or animal strike.
25 driving complaints: (13 in the city and 12 outside the city).
Five hit and runs: One to a fence in parking lot; four to parked vehicles.
Five assaults: One at a house party; one between youths; two domestic; one at a medical facility.
Five thefts.
One shoplifting.
One theft of Auto: An attempted theft of vehicle.
Two theft from auto: One wallet and contents; one of a toolbox from a vehicle (suspect arrested).
Four theft other: One from a thrift store storage area where lock was cut to gain entry.
One theft of bicycle.
One break and enter to residence: An attempt in Moyie thwarted by the homeowner.
Two robbery: A suspect was arrested in both incidents.
Three mischief to property: A window from thrown rock – suspect identified; two broken vehicle windows.
Two drug seizures: Possession under new Cannabis Control Act.
29 false alarms and false 911 calls.
