Eight candidates running for council seat
Eight people have come forward for the City of Cranbrook council seat vacated by Kootenay East MLA Tom Shypitka.
City Chief Election Officer Sarann Press earlier today filed a declaration of candidates for the Oct. 21 by-election.
Filing papers to run are: Mike Barr, Anna (Sam) Hudson, Lynn McIntosh, William McKerrow, Jon McWhirter, Mike Peabody, Gavin Thomas and Christy Wheeldon.
