The Cranbrook Professional Fire Fighters Local 1253 this morning reported that it is cancelling the annual Firefighter’s Fishing Clinic at Idlewild Park/lake due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The event was to be held June 21 but “due to social distancing issues, advice of various health organizations and crowd numbers,” the firefighters said they opted to cancel the annual Father’s Day event.

“This was a hard decision and we are saddened, but we want to ensure we continue to do our part to help flatten the curve and protect our community,” the firefighters stated.
