Fundraiser for local refugee family July 10

A benefit fundraiser is being held for a local refugee family in Cranbrook on Sunday, July 10.

Kootenays Care For RefugeesThe fundraiser being held at The Colombo Lodge in Cranbrook will include a dinner, dance and silent auction in support of a family from Syria that recently resettled in Cranbrook.

All funds raised after expenses will go to the family towards the purchase of hearing for the father who is deaf. Hopefully there will also be funds towards the purchase of a commercial sewing machine. The father wishes to one day open his own tailor shop.

The evening entertainment arranged by Lazy Crow Productions includes Bud Abbott accompanied by Audrey Jane, Jon Bisset who will also be doing sound, Dawson Rutledge who no longer needs any introduction and Dark Fire Cloud & The Lightning Band from Winlaw.

All performers have donated their time and talent which is greatly appreciated. Lazy Crow Productions have also graciously donated their time in putting the event together. I would also like to thank the other members of the committee who helped put this together Jose Gadamez, Kerri Garner, Beverlee Bullough, Audrey Stetski and Jon Bisset for all their hard work.

Tickets are $ 40 per person and are available at Lotus Books, Pharmasave (Baker Street) and online at snaptix.

Anyone interested in reserving a table for eight, please contact Louie Cupello at [email protected], cell (250) 919-6259, land line (250) 426-6595.
