Canada Day 2022 festivities were held at Cranbrook’s Rotary Park Friday, which kicked off at 2 p.m. with the national anthem and speeches by City of Cranbrook Mayor Lee Pratt, Kootenay East MLA Tom Shypitka, ʔaq̓am Community Nasuʔkin (Chief) Joe Pierre Jr. and Kootenay-Columbia MP Rob Morrison.

Cupcakes were handed out by the Sam Steele Sweethearts while games and face painting for the kids took place and an adult beverage garden hosted by the Firehall Kitchen and Tap featured the Brass Monkeys and Pretty for the People performing live music throughout the day.

Happy 155th birthday Canada!
