Groups hosting weed pull on Sunday
The East Kootenay Invasive Plant Council (EKIPC) and Rocky Mountain Trench Ecosystem Restoration Program are hosting a weed pull around the Cranbrook Community Forest Lakes this Sunday.
The target of their tugging; St. John’s Wort. Specifically, in the riparian areas of the four lakes in the area.
If you would like to spend a nice Sunday (forecast says it is going to be beautiful) morning in the Community Forest, sign up for this event, running 9 a.m. to noon June 7.
Participants are asked to marshal at the Sylvan Lakes parking lot and outhouse.
Use the road that enters the Community Forest at the north end of town, past Sandor Rental and the Wildfire Management Branch.
BRING gloves, clippers, garden spades, water to drink and snacks to keep your energy up.
EKIPC will provide the garbage bags, some tools and some training.
