Rockies Film Festival and Series’ next feature is Living, starring Bill Nighy, recently nominated for a 2023 Academy Award, on Thursday, February 23 at Cranbrook’s Key City Theatre at 7 p.m.

Bill Nighy had been a beloved actor for years. Who can forget his role as the underwear clad dissipated rock star in Love Actually?

Starring in this movie set in gloomy postwar London, buttoned-up men of dignity; bowler-hat-wearing worker bees, commute in and out of the city with the solemn demeanor of churchgoers. One of them is Williams played by Nighy, a dull bureaucrat – head of the Public Works Department.

This simple film tells the very human story of Williams who has six months left to live and how he chooses to make his mark and get satisfaction from celebrating the ordinary while achieving a modest but much loved and celebrated goal.
