No jeopardy to community: RCMP
Cranbrook RCMP is investigating after a male was located with an axe in the Baker Street area of town.
At about 8:30 Friday night, Cranbrook RCMP received a call from a concerned resident who advised there was a male walking on Baker Street with an axe. RCMP attended the area and located the male, who had blood on him. The male was arrested without incident and taken to cells.
The 46-year-old Cranbrook resident faces charges of breaching his conditions. He will appear in court at a later date.
“There was a lot of speculation on social media about this incident. Cranbrook RCMP wants to stress that not everything that is said on social media platforms is the truth. Cranbrook RCMP has a very good relationship with the media outlets in town. If something serious would have occurred that could have put the community at jeopardy, rest assured there would have been a notification from the Cranbrook RCMP,” explained Cst. Katie Forgeron.
