Open house June 6 at Cranbrook WorkBC Centre

WorkBC Employment Services Centre, EK Employment is the one-stop employment hub, serving local job seekers and businesses. WorkBC staff members are inviting job seekers, employers and community organizations to join them for an Open House on Wednesday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cranbrook WorkBC Centre at 39 13th Avenue South.

“We are hoping to give job seekers, employers and community partners a chance to take a look at our newly renovated self-serve area, connect with the WorkBC team and get some information about the programs we offer,” explains Justine Kennedy, Director of Employment Services with WorkBC Centre, EK Employment Cranbrook. “We offer a wide range of services and supports that many individuals don’t even know about until they walk through our doors and talk to our staff about their specific needs.”

WorkBC Cranbrook will be welcoming the community with coffee and snacks between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and there will be a series of informal ‘mini’ information sessions.

  • 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. – Services for Job Seekers: including self-serve services and workshops, short- and long-term training programs, job start supports and job search assistance
  • 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – Services for Employers: including website and job board, paid and unpaid work experience placements and job coaching

Staff will be on hand to answer any additional questions and provide more information to show how WorkBC can help individuals go back to school to train for a new job, build experience through on-the-job training, develop customized opportunities, or become self-employed.

The Cranbrook WorkBC Centre is located at 39 13th Avenue South and is open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the exception of statutory holidays.

WorkBC is a comprehensive program designed to meet local labour market needs and to assist job seekers find suitable employment to become more independent. It is funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
