Interior Health Authority issued a multiple overdose alert (with some fatal outcomes) for the Cranbrook area on Friday, May 8.

“In addition to the provincial overdose alert related to increased drug toxicity across B.C., there have been recent reports of multiple overdose events and some fatal outcomes in Cranbrook,” Interior Health reported.

“Some of the overdoses appear to be linked with a brown substance referred to as “brown down.” However, as this is unconfirmed other substances should be considered toxic as well,” IH stated.
