RCMP apprehend man who made threats

Cranbrook RCMP and the Police Dog Service, along with the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, apprehended a man early this morning who had made threatening comments.

On August 9, Cranbrook RCMP was notified of a man residing in the 900-block of 7th St South who had allegedly threatened others.

“Due to the nature of the threats, the Cranbrook Containment Team along with the Southeast District Emergency Response Team attended the area and secured the location.  RCMP made contact with the man who eventually exited his residence and was taken into custody by the local police dog team,” reported Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.

The Cranbrook man was assessed and released from East Kootenay Regional Hospital and currently remains in police custody.

He is facing potential charges pending further investigation and a charge assessment by the BC Prosecution Service, police noted.
