Skate with ICE part of Family Day Game Feb. 12

The Kootenay ICE is announcing details about its upcoming Family Day Game presented by Ktunaxa Nation Council on Monday, February 12.

Puck drop between the ICE and the Lethbridge Hurricanes is scheduled for 2 p.m.

This is one of the six Family Fun Day games on the ICE schedule. Face painters provided by Painted Frog, a photo booth by Jo Mckinstrie and family music will be part of the game day festivities.

In addition, there will be a ‘Skate with the ICE’ following the game. The skate is for season seat holders and those with a ticket to Monday’s game.

It’s important to note:
– Those planning on taking part in the skate won’t be allowed to bring their skates inside the arena until after the game.
– All individuals will gather and get ready for the skate in the meeting area on the basement level of Western Financial Place.
– Once the game is finished, the Zamboni will flood the ice. After that, the ICE will skate with the fans for 30 minutes.

ICE mascots Shivers and L’il Freeze will be skating as well.

The box office and ICE Gear Store at Western Financial Place will be open at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 12.

The ICE also announced yesterday it’s recalled 2001-born forward Blake Allan.

The ICE selected the Humboldt, Saskatchewan native in the third round (56th overall) in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

Allan has played 36 games with the Saskatoon Blazers of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.

In those 36 games, Allan has nine goals and 29 points.

Tickets for the Family Day Game presented by Ktunaxa Nation Council are available. Avoid lineups at the box office by purchasing your ICE tickets online at ICEcountry.ca. Tickets can also be purchased at the ICE Gear Store at Western Financial Place or by calling 250-417-0322.
