Student’s Burn Awareness poster wins pizza for classmates
Each year students throughout B.C. from Kindergarten to Grade 7 can participate in a Burn Awareness Poster Contest sponsored by the British Columbia Professional Firefighters Burn Fund.
Prizes are awarded to 50 students in five areas throughout the province of British Columbia. The areas include: Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Kootenay, Northern BC and the Okanagan.
Hannah Felske from Mrs. Berg’s Grade 1 class at Kootenay Christian Academy was selected as an honorary mention for the Kootenay Region.
Hannah won a Burn Fund stuffy, $50 for the school and her poster will also be on the Burn Fund website for a year.
In addition the Cranbrook firefighters chipped in with the support of Canadian Two for One and she won her entire class a pizza party.
