Temporary fix improving water pressure

City of Cranbrook residents affected by the reduced water pressure the past few days because of construction work on 2nd Street South should see greatly improved water pressure today.

The City of Cranbrook has installed an overhead water flow and pressure improvement line, by connecting two fire hydrants together. This fix is temporary and is expected to be in place for the next two to three weeks. The line is running across 4th Street South between 5th Avenue South and 7th Avenue South. Please use caution while driving along that section for 4th Street South.

Residents should notice much improved water pressure in their homes, however the city strongly encourages you to only use what you need and try to save your high water use activities like doing laundry until later in the evening which will also help keep water pressures up during the day.

City waterworks crews will continue to monitor water pressures on regular basis and make adjustments where needed over the next few weeks. If you experience an unexpected loss of water, please contact Public Works at 250-489-0218.

The City of Cranbrook appreciates the patience and understanding our residents, businesses and visitors affected by this issue.
