The Justin Trudeau government’s response and words about the unfolding issue around SNC-Lavalin, Ms. Jody Wilson-Raybould and Ms. Jane Philpott is the same-old backroom boys making deals for their buddies and caving into corporate blackmail.
Behind closed doors lobbying, arm-twisting and financial donations have been part of politics for a long-time.
Commerce does not supersede the rule of law. Corporations and politicians are not above the law and must be held accountable for criminal and immoral activities.
‘Wink wink nudge nudge’ is not the way to conduct government activities.
As Clerk of the Privy Council, Michael Wernick’s politicization is wrong and works against the interests of Canada and the Canadian people. He must be removed from office.
