BC NDP candidate signs on in Columbia River-Revelstoke

BC NDP candidate Nicole Cherlet submitted her nomination papers to Elections BC Wednesday to make her officially in the race to be the next MLA for Columbia River-Revelstoke.

“I’m honoured and excited to be part of John Horgan’s team in the Oct. 24 election,” said Cherlet, a small business owner and City of Revelstoke councillor. “The leadership shown by the BC NDP government over the past three years has been tremendous and I know there’s so much more work to be done.”

Cherlet has been on the campaign trail for the past few weeks since earning the party’s nomination, and she says people want to know more about the BC NDP plans to keep BC moving forward.

“People in this region are really pleased with how the John Horgan government has led us through the pandemic,” she said.

“They know that British Columbia has fared relatively well because the government made a priority of protecting people’s health and providing financial security. We know that the economic recovery needs to work for everyone, not just for the people at the top. That’s the BC NDP plan.”
