Colombo Lodge showcases solar panel project to supporters

Members of the Colombo Lodge recently toured representatives from Columbia Basin Trust and the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) through their new solar panel project, which included the purchase and installation of a solar electricity panels and an LED lighting upgrade at the Lodge.

The new equipment will significantly reduce operating costs and increase the efficiency of the facility’s electrical services.

The $100,000 project was supported by a grant of $75,000 from the Trust and $12,500 from the RDEK Electoral Area C Discretionary Grant-in-Aid account.

Giacomo Scavo and Lorne DeRosa of the Colombo Lodge show off the recently installed solar panels on the Colombo Lodge, which are expected to significantly reduce the operating costs for the facility.
