Friday Highways report for the East Kootenay
Not a shock given the region has received between 20 and 70 cm of snow the past few days; East Kootenay highways are all featuring winter driving conditions to one degree or another at the outset of the Family Day long weekend.
Of particular note, watch for black ice on Highway 95 from Yahk to Idaho border and on Highway 3/93 from Yahk to Moyie, and frost heaves on Toby Creek Road west of Invermere.
Highway 3
Elko to Alberta border – Compact snow. Watch for slippery sections. Snowing. Winter driving conditions.
Highway 3/93
Compact ice between Elko junction and Cranbrook.
Highway 3/95
Black ice from six km west of Curzon Junction on Highway 3 to Moyie. Compact snow. Watch for slippery sections. Snowing. Winter driving conditions.

Highway 43

Highway 93

Highway 95
Compact snow between Radium Hot Springs and Golden. Watch for slippery sections.
