Friday Highways Report for the East Kootenay is a snapshot to give the travelling public a glimpse of what they may be heading into or out of this weekend.

Highway 43

Sparwood to Elkford

Please be advised of a short-duration, full highway closure of up to one hour, between 10 a.m. – 1 p.m, on Highway 3, at 4.5km east of Elko.  There will be 15-minute closures with a Single Lane Alternating Traffic pattern following the main closure until 5 p.m. Access will remain for emergency vehicles and the work is weather dependent.  The closure is necessary for safety to the motoring public while blasting rock material to be used for repair flood sites in the Elk Valley.
