Ghostriders and Nitros seek to close out series Friday

The Fernie Ghostriders and Kimberley Dynamiters are each one game away from advancing in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) playoffs.

The Ghostriders lead the Columbia Valley Rockies 3-1 in the first round of the playoffs on the strength of a game 3-2 overtime victory at the Fernie Memorial Arena.

Kimberley Dynamiters are up three games to one versus the Golden Rockets, winning game four 3-2 in overtime.

Creston Valley Thunder Cats lead the Grand Forks Border Bruins three games to one, winning game four 3-2.

The Nitros host the Rockets at the Civic Centre on Friday, Feb. 24 in game five. The game starts at 7 p.m. Game six, if necessary, will go at 7:30 p.m. at Golden Arena. And game seven, if necessary, will be back in Kimberley on Monday, Feb. 27 (7 p.m.)

The Rockies host the Ghostriders at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena Friday, with a 7:30 p.m. game time. Game six, if necessary, will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Fernie Memorial Arena. And game seven, if required, will back in Invermere Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Creston Valley seeks to upend Grand Forks Friday night at the Jack Goddard Memorial Arena 7 p.m. local time). If necessary, game six will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Creston’s Johnny Bucyk Arena. Game seven will be back in Grand Forks Monday, Feb. 27.
