Intense flurries warning issued for region

Environment Canada this afternoon issued a Special Weather Statement warning of the potential for sudden and intense flurries tonight across the East Kootenay.

“Rain this evening will intensify and change to snow. The snowfall is expected to be brief but intense, with significantly reduced visibility at times. Snowfall will be patchy, and accumulation amounts will be highly variable,” Environment Canada said.

“Some areas may receive up to 10 cm of snow, while others may see little to no accumulation.”

Prepare for rapidly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
