The East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH) wants to extend its gratitude to the Kimberley and Cranbrook communities for making this year’s Trio on the Mountain in support of the Cranbrook Kimberley Hospice Society’s (CKHS) plans to build a hospice house for the East Kootenay an incredible success.

The event, held at the top of Kimberley Alpine Resort on the evening of Friday, June 26, featured live music from Heather Gemmell, Lennan Delaney, Oliver McQuaid and Jack Spring (pictured above).

Over 350 locals and guests enjoyed the sold-out show, which raised around $20,000.

EKFH Executive Director Brenna Hong commented: “I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our incredible community for coming together to support such an important cause. Your generosity, kindness, and enthusiasm made this evening truly special. To our talented artists, generous sponsors, and everyone who attended, thank you for believing in the vision of a future Hospice Home for our community.

“Your support is helping create a place where individuals and families will receive compassionate care and comfort when they need it most.

“A very special thank you goes to Jim Webster and Brian Copping whose vision, passion, and countless hours of dedication brought this wonderful event to life. We are so grateful for your leadership and commitment. And to our amazing volunteers, thank you for your time, energy, and smiling faces. Events like this simply would not be possible without your unwavering support and willingness to give back.

“Together, we raised $20,000 for the Cranbrook Kimberley Hospice Society’s future Hospice Home. Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to making this much-needed facility a reality. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey and for making such a meaningful difference in the lives of others.”

The wonderful evening in support of the great cause would not have been possible without the support of our presenting sponsor, Kootenay Savings Credit Union, and venue host, Kimberley Alpine Resort. We want to thank. the artists for putting on a fabulous show and Jim Webster for all his hard work organizing the event.

We also want to thank the Kimberley and Cranbrook communities for selling out the entire evening within 10 days of our initial ticket purchase. We are truly overwhelmed by your support of live local music and community health care.

Having a hospice home in the East Kootenay will be life-changing for families and friends with loved ones receiving end of life care. It will be a place where life’s final chapter is written with love, dignity, and peace.

Since Trio on the Mountain, CKHS has continued their hard work to secure land for the hospice home project. They are looking forward to having further project updates later this year.
