The Kimberley Dynamiters and Fernie Ghostriders will be represented at the upcoming Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) Top Prospects game in Kelowna.

The Columbia Valley Rockies did not have any players selected.

Selected to play for the Kootenay Conference Top Prospects game are Kimberley Dynamiters’ defenseman Harrison Risdon, from Cranbrook, and forward, local product Caige Sterzer.

Fernie Ghostriders defenseman Derek Green, from Trail, is also heading to Kelowna for the Jan. 14 tilt at the Rutland Arena (game time is 2 p.m.)

The last time the KIJHL held a Top Prospects Game was Jan. 14, 2011 in Fernie.

For players born in 1999 and 2000, the prospects game will feature a Recruiting Showcase in conjunction with the Kelowna Midget Invitational.

The Top Junior Prospects in the KIJHL will meet in an Okanagan versus Kootenay Conference match-up to showcase elite junior talent, all in keeping with the KIJHL’s aim of being a top development league.

Nitros playing in Cranbrook Jan. 6

The Kimberley Dynamiters are playing a home game on the road in Cranbrook tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 6 at the Memorial Arena against the talented Beaver Valley Nitehawks. Game time is 7 p.m.

The Dynamiters head to Invermere Saturday for a tilt against the Columbia Valley Rockies at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Dynamiters also have a mid-week game in Nelson on Wednesday, Jan. 11 against the Leafs at the Nelson Community Complex. Game time is 7 p.m. (PST).

The Fernie Ghostriders and the Rockies clash Friday (Jan. 6) in Invermere at The Eddie; game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Riders head home for a Saturday evening (Jan. 8) game against the Castlegar Rebels; game time at the Fernie Memorial Arena is 7:30 p.m.
