Wasa resident Nowell Berg has announced his intention to run as a candidate for Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) Electoral Area E Director in this October’s general local elections.

Nowell wishes to thank long-time Area E Director Jane Walter for her significant contributions during her time as Director, and wishes her the best in her upcoming retirement.

Nowell’s participation in the local community includes 10 years as a Trustee on the Board of the Wasa Lake Land Improvement District (WLLID), along with a variety of local charitable activities.

On making his announcement, Berg said, “I look forward to meeting as many residents over the next months before the election on October 17. I want to learn what issues and concerns residents have about Area E, what priorities they feel are important to pursue and how I can best serve their interests at the RDEK Board.”
