Rails-to-Trails maintenance work begins Oct. 2

Improvements to the retaining walls along the NorthStar Rails-to-Trails is set to begin on Monday, October 2, which will impact public access to part of the popular trail for about three days.

The construction work will be happening approximately 2.5km southeast of the bridge over the St. Mary’s River. Machinery and crews will be accessing the site from the Wycliffe parking lot, next to River’s Crossing.

Trail users are advised this section of trail will be closed for extended periods during this time. For your safety, please respect and obey any signage and direction of construction personnel in the area. Users can take Wycliffe Park road as a temporary detour route.

The City of Cranbrook and City of Kimberley appreciate the patience and understanding of the public while this trail work is completed.
