Blood Moon Radio entering second season
You don’t have to leave the Kootenays to build an audience beyond them. Blood Moon Radio, a Fernie-based independent podcast and media company, is showing what that looks like.
Launched in August 2025 by founder and host Coraley Letcher, Blood Moon Radio wrapped its first season in June with more than 1,500 downloads and recognition from both Amazon Music Canada and Apple Podcasts.
The show was selected for Amazon Music Canada’s Indie Amplifier list and debuted in the Top 100 Canadian podcasts in the Personal Journals category on Apple.
Now, as the show prepares to enter its second season, that momentum is beginning to attract attention well beyond the Kootenays, including from Hollywood. Season Two: The Lovers Unleashed features conversations exploring love, relationships, psychology, sexuality, creativity and culture through the lens of The Lovers tarot archetype.
Among the season’s guests are Hollywood screenwriter, producer, author and development coach Samuel Garza Bernstein, who pitched to appear between seasons.
But for Letcher, the podcast is only part of the larger vision. Blood Moon Radio is being developed as an independent media ecosystem—one that creates opportunities for conversations and perspectives that may not otherwise receive mainstream attention, while demonstrating that creators don’t necessarily need a major broadcaster, production company or metropolitan market behind them to build something with reach.
That philosophy is also becoming the foundation of Letcher’s consulting work. Through her business, Wolfsbane Media Solutions, she offers consulting and strategy services to entrepreneurs, podcasters and small businesses. The goal isn’t simply to make another successful podcast. It’s to demonstrate what independent creators can build when they treat their projects as businesses, build strategically around their strengths, and use digital platforms to reach audiences wherever they are.
For a region like the Kootenays, that possibility is significant.
Geography no longer has to determine the size of an audience and independent creators don’t necessarily have to move to Toronto, Vancouver or Los Angeles to have a place in the larger conversation.
Blood Moon Radio is still being built from Fernie, and Letcher intends to see just how far it can go.
