Regional voters hitting advance polls

Voters in the two provincial ridings in the East Kootenay are making the most of advance polls, which opened yesterday (Oct. 15).

According to Elections BC’s preliminary figures, 1,883 advance votes were cast in the Kootenay East riding Thursday. There are 32,135 registered voters in the riding.

And 1,400 advance votes were cast in the Columbia River-Revelstoke riding. There are 26,166 registered voters in the riding.

A total of 104,937 voters voted yesterday on the first day of the advance voting period in the province. In 2017, 122,465 voters voted on the first day of advance voting.

Advance voting concludes on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

The general election is Oct. 24.

Elections BC will publish preliminary figures of advance votes cast each day.
