Significant injuries in Highway 95A crash

A 62-year-old woman received significant injuries in a late afternoon crash yesterday on Highway 95A.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. last night Cranbrook RCMP was called to the scene of a collision on Highway 95A by Mission Wycliffe Road. RCMP noted a white pickup truck perpendicular to the ditch and a Jeep in the northbound travelled portion of the highway.

A Search and Rescue crew attended and used the Jaws-of-Life to remove the 62-year-old female driver from the Jeep. She suffered significant but not life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The male driver of the pick up was also taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

Cranbrook RCMP, with the help of East Kootenay Traffic Services, continues to investigate this collision. Road conditions do appear to be a contributing factor, reported Cst. Katie Forgeron of Cranbrook RCMP.
