If you have been contemplating taking part in the 10th annual Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo on Sept. 13, you may want to register sooner than later.

The Cranbrook Rotary Sunrise Club reports it is closer to hitting the maximum of 500 riders for the bicycle race held between St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino, Kimberley and Cranbrook, than ever before at this time of year.

The beautiful ride features three distances, 152 kilometres (Gran), 102 km (Medio) and 58 km (Piccolo).
