Volunteers needed for 55+ BC Games

Planning is well underway for the 2018 Kimberley – Cranbrook 55+ BC Games taking place in our communities from September 11 – 15.

Twenty-three sports in all will be hosted between the two joint host communities, which is expected to attract nearly 3,000 athletes. The success of such a large undertaking relies on the support of our volunteers. Both Kimberley and Cranbrook have excellent histories of volunteerism and have shown this through many major events hosted in each community.

Volunteers for the 55+ BC Games are able to register online by visiting the Games website @ www.55plusgames.ca and clicking on the ‘Volunteer Registration Portal’ link. When you register, you will be able to see the variety of volunteer opportunities available.

In addition to volunteering, the local Games board is hiring an Operations Manager. This full-time contract position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a functioning Games office to provide support to the Board of Directors and their committees. The Operations Manager must be adept at organizing and managing events of such a large size.

You can check out the Operations Manager position description by visiting the BC Games website @ www.55plusgames.ca, the City of Kimberley @ www.kimberley.ca or the City of Cranbrook @ www.cranbrook.ca.

Application deadline is Monday February 19.
